Josh Daniel (stage name), or Josh Smith as he was known back in his high school days in New Orleans (just try registering with American Actors Equity Association while sporting a last name of "Smith"!), began taking lessons with me in his 2nd year as a student in the Musical Theatre division at NOCCA/Riverfront (New Orleans Center for Creative Arts). As with most of my students during that period of my life, Josh's dream was to enter one of the top BFA programs in Musical Theatre in the country. And he did. In his senior year at NOCCA, Josh hit the college audition trail, and won admission to the BFA program in Musical Theatre at CCM, the College Conservatory of Music at the University of Cincinnati. After four years of top notch training at CCM, Josh graduated with his BFA (2013) and headed straight to NYC to begin his career. After only a couple of months spent working as a caterer by night and auditioning by day, Josh sang and danced for the artistic team of The Book of Momon, and was cast as a "Swing" on the National Tour where you will find him today...perhaps on a stage in your town!

Bruce Landry entered NOCCA/Riverfront in 9th grade (2004), and began private voice lessons in my studio in the spring semester of his freshman year. Lessons continued throughout the summer and into the beginning of his sophomore year. Only a few weeks into the fall semester at NOCCA, Hurricane Katrina blew through New Orelans, and our lessons stopped abruptly. By the time Katrina had finished with New Orleans, NOCCA's doors were closed and the dreams of many of its students, including Bruce, were dashed. Arts High Schools across the country came to the rescue, offering not only to accept NOCCA's students, but also find them housing with local families so they could continue their training in the arts uninterrupted. I was able to find a spot for Bruce at the Harrison School for the Arts in Florida, so with his parents blessing, Bruce headed to Florida to pick up his studies in Harrison's musical theatre program. Although NOCCA/Riverfront re-opened its doors to returning students in the fall of 2006, having successfully completed his sophomore year at the Harrison School, Bruce decided to return to Harrison for his junior year. Vacations during the school year and during the summer months would always find Bruce back home in New Orleans and back in my voice studio. Bruce returned home to New Orleans for his senior year, re-entering NOCCA's Musical Theatre Division in the fall of 2007. Our voice lessons resumed on a regular basis as we prepared for college auditions, and for the annual Young Arts Competition in Miami. Bruce returned from that competition with a silver medal, and after a successful round of college auditions in February of 2008, landed a spot in the BFA Musical Theatre program at Ithaca College. Four intense years of training in singing, acting, and dancing followed. Then, in the summer of 2012 with his FBA in hand, Bruce headed for NYC, found himself an agent, and began leading the life of an actor "living the dream" as he loves to say. Since settling in NYC, auditions have landed him roles in top notch regional theatres in Florida and North Carolina where he has stared as Marius in productions of Les Misérables. This summer he heads to North Shore Musical Theatre (Boston) where he will appear as Prince Eric in a production of The Little Mermaid. In the fall, he joins the National Tour of Cinderella.
